Detalles:
At first glance, this appears to be a charming and beautifully appointed bar and restaurant leading through to a courtyard for summer dining……….but the surface is merely being scratched! Off the courtyard are a number of alcoves, ideal for housing small exhibitions, a garage and ultra-modern washrooms with slate flooring. Through the rear of the courtyard, you will find the large kitchen which is fully equipped with everything a commercial kitchen needs including a large walk-in fridge. Beside this, there is a lounge area with rear entrance doors on to a pedestrian street.
The main staircase leads up to the first floor and all rooms are entered by vast double wooden doors; you will find a pool room, a living/bedroom with wc – and a winter bar and restaurant. The winter bar is on two levels and looks out on to the courtyard below. There is a long side terrace for those chill-out evenings. Off the bar is a vast restaurant with the characteristic beamed ceiling, terracotta tiled floor and a feature fireplace. Large windows look out on to the rear of the premises.
The second floor houses one of the libraries and an enormous bedroom overlooking the courtyard with its own bathroom off, a small kitchen, a lounge with a slanted ceiling and a large dining area/open plan lounge, also with a beamed ceiling. The icing on the cake is a large roof terrace with views over the town and the surrounding countryside.
At the front of the premises and overlooking the central courtyard is another enormous room, presently used as an artist’s studio and gallery with a shower room and kitchen off. From here, there are more stairs up to an open plan apartment, with a stone wall down one side, a beamed ceiling and a wood-burning stove. There is a kitchen at one end and a shower room to the side. It has its own private terrace.
The bar/restaurant opens for dinner six days a week and for lunch on market days from March to October; however the scope of this establishment is vast. It has hosted various events, private parties and exhibitions and is perfectly placed for ‘retreat’ weekends, painting or yoga courses…and the list goes on. The international clientele is made up of German, Scandinavian, Swiss, American and British visitors and residents and whilst in the town centre, is in a very peaceful location. COMMENT: This unique business cannot be adequately described here and viewing to appreciate the potential is essential.
